How Have we used the Funds we have Raised?
As the PTO, we do much for Desert Sage! Not only do we host fun, family friendly events, but we also do a lot behind the scenes. We provide gifts to our teachers and staff for specific appreciation days and holidays. These gifts usually include a Desert Sage mug, candy, and a gift card. We purchase the items to "sell" at our Gecko Gold stores. We provide a hot meal to teachers on their late nights for parent teacher conferences. We also help with funds needed by teachers for extras like running club shirts and vendors for Family Science Night. These are only a few of the many ways the funds we raise help our school.
Some of our top grossing fundraisers this year have been the Fun Run, our Sonic Food Fundraiser, and our Café Zupas Food Fundraiser. A few of our larger purchases have been the new library chairs, movie licensing which allows us to host movie events and allows the school to show movies during rainy day recess. Along with items for the Gecko Gold store and new Running Club t-shirts.
We have voted to use another chunk of our funds to repair and/or replace the stage lights and sound system. We plan to help relieve some of the cost of our amazing chaperones that will be helping out with our annual 6th graders overnight camping trip. We also have new library tables on our to-do list.
